Maggie and Jonathan were wed at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church on a summer evening. The sunflowers, by Plants N’ Petals, that were on the pews and alter added to the summer fun flair of the day. Maggie wore a gorgeous gown, Priscilla of Boston, with a unique waist bow and the dress had pockets hidden in the pleats. What girl doesn’t need pockets on her dress, I loved it. The reception, at Lakeside Country Club, was decorated with orange uplighting, by Texas Events, and more sunflowers, it was a very summery feel. The band rocked the reception and played all night. Maggie and Jonathan even had a private last dance, just them on the dance floor, as the guest had already gone outside for the departure. It was such a sweet moment to watch.

Photography by Niki is featured in Brides Houston magazine. “The Fine Print, How to read a photography contract” is in the current Spring/Summer issue. The magazine interviewed me on the ins and outs of photography contracts and what to look for when booking a photographer. I was happy to be apart of the latest issue again. Check out a copy on your local newsstand.

Maggie had a bridal portraits taken at Lakeside Country Club, where her wedding was just held. (So now I can share some of my favorites.) Maggie’s outgoing personality made her an easy model to photograph. Can’t wait to share her and Jonathan’s wedding photos shortly.

Mike and Barbara had a beautiful wedding with a classic feel. Their ceremony was at Saint Luke’s Methodist, where Barbara’s cathedral length long veil drifted gorgeously behind her as she and her dad walked down the aisle. She also wore her mother’s wedding gown, altered slightly to fit today’s style. Her wedding party wore a modern silver slate a-line bridesmaid dresses with the men in classic tuxedos. The Junior League in Houston was elegantly decorated with tables of white flower arrangements and silver accent pieces. Monogramed chair covers adorned the table’s chairs and their monogram was also upon their wedding cake, napkins, matches and departing flowers paper cones. As a special treat the guest were served ice cream sandwiches in the evening!

Barbara and Peter were married in the beautiful chapel at Ashton Gardens. The architecture of the wooden beams is really an eye catcher, and the mass amounts of windows letting in all the light is really a photographer’s dream chapel. I love going back there to photograph every time. The couple’s sweet demeanor and friendship that they shared with their guests really was apparent during their wedding. They used the fall tones for their wedding flowers and decor, and even on their departure guest threw autumn leaves.
