Houston, Texas – January 29, 2010 – WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced Photography by Niki has been selected to receive the WeddingWire 2010 Bride’s Choice Awards™ for Photography! This is Photography by Niki’s second year to receive the award. The award premiered in 2009.

The annual Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in quality and service within the wedding industry, as determined by recent reviews and extensive surveys from over 500,000 newlyweds.

Photography by Niki is among the top five percent of all vendors in the WeddingWire community, which includes over 100,000 wedding professionals across the US and Canada. Awards were given to winners across 19 different service categories, from wedding venues to wedding photographers.

Mike + Barbara – St Luke’s Methodist Church + Junior League Wedding – Houston Texas Photographer

Mike and Barbara had a beautiful wedding with a classic feel. Their ceremony was at Saint Luke’s Methodist, where Barbara’s cathedral length long veil drifted gorgeously behind her as she and her dad walked down the aisle. She also wore her mother’s wedding gown, altered slightly to fit today’s style. Her wedding party wore a modern silver slate a-line bridesmaid dresses with the men in classic tuxedos. The Junior League in Houston was elegantly decorated with tables of white flower arrangements and silver accent pieces. Monogramed chair covers adorned the table’s chairs and their monogram was also upon their wedding cake, napkins, matches and departing flowers paper cones. As a special treat the guest were served ice cream sandwiches in the evening!

Barbara + Peter – Ashton Gardens Wedding – Houston Wedding Photographer

Barbara and Peter were married in the beautiful chapel at Ashton Gardens. The architecture of the wooden beams is really an eye catcher, and the mass amounts of windows letting in all the light is really a photographer’s dream chapel. I love going back there to photograph every time. The couple’s sweet demeanor and friendship that they shared with their guests really was apparent during their wedding. They used the fall tones for their wedding flowers and decor, and even on their departure guest threw autumn leaves.

I was super busy over December with family photos, baby photos and even a maternity photo session. I love photographing families, even though I don’t advertise in that area. My family and newborn baby sessions usually grow from my wedding clients. Newlyweds soon become new parents too! I love meeting the new additions to my clients’ families! There’s something in the water in Houston, as I’ve had several past brides tell me they are expecting! I thought I’d share some of the highlights from the family holiday season!

Amanda + Kurt – White House Ranch Wedding – Friendswood Texas Photographer

Amanda and Kurt were married at a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the White House Ranch. The bridesmaids carried red flowers which visually popped on their black dresses. The bride also carried a beautiful bouquet of red carnations with jewels by Flowers & Co. The couple’s family and friends enjoyed a night full of laughter and dancing at a reception indoors at the ranch.

The gorgeous colors of blues and pinks was a great color palette and the stunning flowers brought punch to the ballroom.
